Mark has been fishing since he was old enough to hold a rod. He started with a Zebco 33 reel and a simple bobber rig to catch bluegill and bullheads. He was coached by his dad and grandpa. Later his dad purchased a 12' wood boat with a 10 horse power Johnson motor. Many trips to Lake Mac trolling for white bass and walleye developed a strong desire to learn new ways to catch fish besides trolling. The next reel was a Mitchell 300 which was used for many years. From this point spinning reels were the only reels he used. One or two bad experiences with a baitcaster reel convinced him to stick with spinning reels.
Mark raised three sons and instilled the fishing bug so he would have lifetime fishing partners. A 16' fiberglass tri-hull boat with same original 10 hp Jonson was used until 1995. In the spring of 1995 Mark purchased a 16' Lund Pike Special boat that caught more fish and created more memories than any other boat he will ever own. Currently Mark has a 17' Crestliner for lakes and an 18' jon boat for ponds. You will see both boats in future fishing pictures. Sometimes bank fishing or wading is the best way to catch fish.
No specific species is targeted. Mark fishes when and where any species of fish are active and can be caught. Most fish are released.
